We are Lin and Toni, sisters, dreamers, and co-founders of PlasticFree Toronto. We spend our time bringing people together to reimagine ways of being that respect our deep connections to each other and to the earth. We believe that no one is illegal, and that those who leave their home do so in search of a better life. We also believe that everyone should have access to safety, dignity, and a good life for themselves and their family. In Canada, we pride ourselves on being a multicultural place where everyone is welcome. Yet, too often, newcomers and refugees who arrive in Canada struggle to access basic housing, food, transportation and other resources. This GivingTuesday, we want to ensure that all new arrivals in Canada feel welcome, feel wanted, and feel that they have what they need to thrive in their new home. When you support Lin and Toni’s fundraiser, your donation will go toward the Welcoming New Canadians Fund which includes more than 120 registered charities. Your gift can ensure newly arrived individuals have access to the support and services they need to find a sense of comfort and community in their new home.
