MORE THAN 800 MILLION PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD GO HUNGRY EVERY DAY
The world is facing a global food crisis putting millions of lives around the world in severe danger.
Countries like Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, South Sudan, Yemen, Haiti and more are experiencing the compounding effects of grain exports from Ukraine halted by the ongoing war, extended droughts across Africa, and economic challenges brought by the pandemic. The situation around the world is dire, and the facts are staggering:
• Every 60 seconds, a child is forced into severe malnutrition. That’s more than 260,000 children experiencing malnutrition since the start of 2022.
• 50 million people are at risk of famine.
• Approximately 8 million newborns and children under the age of five are at risk of dying due to severe malnutrition.
YOU CAN HELP TACKLE GLOBAL HUNGER
Canadian charities are distributing urgent food, water, and emergency relief in countries facing dangerous levels of chronic hunger, malnutrition, or countries experiencing or are close to famine.
While long-term solutions to the global food crisis will need government intervention, drastic climate action, economic stability, and even conflict resolution, your gift will provide lifesaving aid to protect those at risk of starvation or severe malnutrition before it’s too late.
