Emily Padan was born and raised in Montreal. She is a slow living ambassador, co-owner of hinter hotel and mom-to-be. From an early age, cancer affected many of Emily’s family members. She lost an uncle at age 6 and she has seen multiple grandparents battle the disease from age 10 onwards. Her grandfather beat colon cancer and lived on until 91, though sadly her grandmother passed at the age of 74 after being diagnosed with both bladder and lung cancer. Later on in life, immediate family members, like her brother, 31 at the time, fought cancer as well, this time stage 3 colon cancer. He is now 37 and has been in remission for 5 years. Needless to say, cancer is a cause close to Emily’s heart. She is passionate about continuing the research needed to hopefully one day, make cancer a disease of the past.
