Leaving your entire life behind and starting fresh in a new country is extremely difficult. There are challenges at every corner – navigating a new city, learning a new language, accessing healthcare and education, or simply finding community and a sense of belonging. 

For refugees, returning home is not an option. As they grieve the loss of their country they find themselves isolated with minimal support.

Creating programs for newcomers

Understanding the difficulties newcomers face, charities across the country are providing much-needed resources to help them start their life in Canada. These programs include language classes, employment opportunities, legal support, counselling, health services and much more. 

With your help, newcomers can feel welcomed and continue to receive critical support during a very difficult and transitional time.

ABOUT the Welcoming Canadians Fund

The CanadaHelps Welcoming New Canadians Fund includes more than 120 registered charities. The charities in this Fund are selected through an algorithmic approach, taking the charity’s area of focus, mission, and description into account.
