Ensure Canada’s elderly have the right support to withstand COVID-19
We’ve lost far too many seniors to COVID-19. Already a vulnerable population, seniors are at higher risk for serious complications or death from the virus. In 2020, over 90 per cent of COVID-19 deaths have been people over the age of 60.1 And during the initial outbreak, the pandemic deaths in long-term care in Canada are double those of other countries.2,3 Seniors also face other risks including isolation, depression, and lost time with loved ones.
Building safer environments
In response to the impact of COVID-19 in our senior communities, charities, and non-profit care homes across Canada continue to offer programs that cater to their unique needs. This includes high-quality long-term care, meal-delivery services, physical and mental health services, virtual recreation programs, affordable housing, companionship and networking, education, personal support, advocacy, and more.
These services have ensured seniors receive critical support, improving quality of life. But for them to continue, charities need your help.
Ensure seniors are cared for
COVID-19 has robbed us of enough people – our parents, partners, grandparents, friends, and neighbours. Donate to the COVID-19 Seniors Care Fund and help deliver critical aid. Together, we can provide high-quality care to Canada’s seniors.
